I've long been a self-confessed "product junkie"...always looking for some miracles in a jar, bottle, compact or package! I have decided to begin listing here some of my favorite discoveries...or as my sisters in makeup/hair obsession call them, HG's...for Holy Grail.
First things first-getting skin clean, fresh, and moist! Here are a few items getting used in my bathroom cabinet lately...
For really greasy or heavily made up skin....or gentle cleansing for dry skin...DHC Cleansing Oil...been using this stuff forever, before every line came out with their own version. Tried the rest, DHC is still the best! Use on dry face and eyes to melt away makeup, then rinse off with water. Easy and great. Leaves skin fresh, not stripped, not greasy. If you need to cleanse afterwards with a soap based cleanser, go ahead, but you may not unless your makeup was extra heavy.
Another great choice for gentle cleansing, especially when there is light to moderate makeup removal, is Vichy Purete Thermale, a foaming water based cleanser that removes dirt and leaves skin fresh and clean. It has a feather light texture, does not disturb skin balance and never strips or tightens. Great for mature skin, but really good for anyone.

For combination or oilier skin, try FRESH Soy Face Cleanser and then afterwards, FRESH Umbrian Clay Oil-Free Lotion. They contain cucumber and have its fresh green scent. I love to use this cleanser this in summer time.

When winter skin gets dry, and you have the flakies, there is an awesome product that exfoliates your face with ease...no rubbing or scrubbing or harsh acids. You just apply the gel, wait a minutes, and rub off gently with a washcloth. Little bits of dry skin will come right off and leave your skin fresh and glowing. It is made in Japan, haven't seen it yet in stores but I found it online on eBay. It's fabulous! The name....CURE Natural Aqua Gel.

My favorite lightweight moisturizer is still an old classic....La Mer Moisturing Lotion. I like it better than the heavier cream, and I also love La Mer The Radiant Serum...I love the way gels and serums feel on my skin, they penetrate faster and better and I prefer to use them.
