Lately I've had lots of time to relax and take care of my home and myself, which is a blessing. I am so grateful that our business, run by my loyal, loving husband Don, affords me this time for myself. We have been considering moving from our mid-century house in the 'burbs.....we've gone as far as looking at a few units, driving around several neighborhoods, and doing lots of online research.
We both really like Center City Philadelphia, and specifically the area known as Washington Square West. I used to think we couldn't afford to live in this lovely, upscale urban oasis, but actually, we can. That is, with a LOT of downsizing and streamlining. Square feet come at a premium there, so we'd have to get rid of a lot of stuff....maybe that would be a good thing. And of course Don realizes that he'd now have a much longer commute. But a walker-friendly neighborhood...this non-driver would be set free! Imagine being able to just walk blocks in either direction to shops, restaurants, theatres, food markets, dog parks, etc...this could be a great lifestyle for us.
We are not rushing into anything, but taking our time to decide if giving up our over-improved, comfy and spacious suburban home in a quiet, leafy, safe town is the right thing to do. There are pros and cons on both sides.
My happy optimism is coming back and I can't wait to get involved in a few upcoming projects. Yes, life is good and I am just enjoying it. Now, if I could just lose some weight......!
